Hello! I am a 4th year transfer student at UC Davis, where I am currently double majoring in aerospace and mechanical engineering. Over the past year, I have become involved with the airframe sub-team of the Aggie Propulsion and Rocketry Lab at UC Davis, where I assisted in the manufacturing of a solid motor rocket. We assembled the airframe made out of fiberglass and aluminum, and created a fiberglass fin jig using fins with a PVC foam core and carbon fiber layup. I assisted in the manufacturing of the aluminum airframe and bulkheads by facing and turning on a lathe as well as drilling and tapping on a mill. I also utilized my skills in CAD software such as SolidWorks to help design and laser cut a jig to assist in mounting the fins to the rocket. In June 2024, my team and I successfully launched the rocket, where we collected valuable data on what can be improved on the structure.Recently, I completed an internship through UC Davis Global Affairs and CIS Abroad at ROHU Innovations in Barcelona. During my 6 week internship, I researched various methods to attach and remove wings from a VTOL fixed wing drone for ease of assembly and transport. Using the information I found, I designed a wing structure included with spars, ribs, and skin, and created a method to attach the wing to the fuselage with electrical connections for VTOL motors and ailerons considered. At the end of my internship, I presented my findings and designs to my supervisor.
