The current US operation of FLS Miljo had been in operation for nearly 10 years and never reached the level of profitability.The opportunity was presented to take over that divsion and more fully integrate it with the other global operations of the Danish parent company.Within two years the US operation reached a level of profitablity but the parent company decided that the US operation would be merged into the Danish operation as a regional office and a major part of the available technology which was specific to the US operation was sold off.A major contractual dispute was underway and I continued to manage that situation until a final settlement was reached at which time I resigned from the FL Smidth organization and embarked on a new career as a self employed technical consultant.
