Working as an extension of the manager I oversaw tasks for the carpenters and the team in the office. Helping to organise general site tasks including where and what material needs to be at specific sites so everyone can do their job—speaking and dealing with suppliers and transport companies. I had to adapt by running on a “to-do” app that the team could add tasks into, so my working day was constantly changing. I could be on-site using working with tools whilst also ensuring there have been deliveries, site cleanups and set ups for the tradies. Checking there are no hazards or safety issues on site or around. Fences, posts, and signs must be erected with all health and safety requirements.All finishing and defects need to be completed to houses that are ready for the handover of new homes.

During this time, I worked closely with the forestry in NSW and ACT, aiding the areas affected by thebushfires. I was helping to regrow and rebuild Australia. I was assigned to be the group leader, which was a privilege that I took very seriously, coordinating and managing a team.Day to day was, liaising with the forestry and rangers, filling out health and safety reports, Job Safety analysis and employee working hours, reading maps, setting specifications and requirements,maintaining equipment and tools, planting trees, building firebreaks, chainsawing and fertilising/spraying. The jobs were set to a deadline and a very strict regulated standard.
