Project Engineer involved with enabling and delivering grid edge flexibility in trials with distributed energy resources such as Solar PV, commercial and domestic batteries, heat pumps and run-of-the-river hydros. I was responsible for project managing, evaluating the trials and disseminating technical, commercial and social learning via public reports and presentations. Involved in the development of Smart Local Energy Systems. Part of a team with the aim to turn the energy system on its head through innovative community energy schemes. I managed a Smart and Fair Neighbourhood and have been influential in dissemination of learning coming from the six Smart projects which includes public reports, presentations and blogs. Involved in the management and development of digital technologies such as "Peoples Power Station 2.0" which is designed to enable DER to deliver flexibility and automate their participation in DSO flexibility markets. I am involved in the development of a new service called Offsetting which is a grid edge active network management service. The first trail (Rainbow trail) was a sculpture trail created during the first national lockdown for the residents of Southampton. I created the trail and project managed it. During the project I:• Obtained a £3.1k grant from Southampton City Council and submitted £34k bids to the Arts Council. Collaborated with 2 other organisations. • Raised £2.3k in corporate sponsorship from 8 clients.• Featured on BBC South 6pm News, BBC Solent radio and the Daily Echo.

Bennamann is a Cornish Startup company, founded in 2012. I worked primarily on a project designing and building a Biomethane Storage tank for HGV’s.I was responsible for the insulation system design and build which has implications on fuel capacity, hold time and structural rigidity. It required working in a team of 4 engineers, managing a budget and liaising with the commercial team and project partners. Hand calcs, Solidworks and FEA modelling are used to design components. I have built test rigs to test components and designs and also prototypes to prove concepts and test performance. I managed the manufacture of the tank and am responsible for the development of the workshop which was started from scratch and now can manufacture cryogenic tanks. I established relationships with local specialist manufacturing firms. I'm a coded welder for stainless steels and successfully built a 300 litre prototype with my colleagues.www.bennamann.com
