I managed Curzon Goldsmiths, an independent 104 seat cinema based in South East London, from September 2017 through to June 2021. Curzon Goldsmiths was known not only for its tight connection to the academic community at Goldsmiths University, but also for its socially conscious, eclectic film programming - from repertory classics to festival gems and the world’s biggest blockbusters. Curzon Goldsmiths was known not only for its tight connection to the academic community at Goldsmiths University, but also for its socially conscious, eclectic film programming - from repertory classics to festival gems and the world’s biggest blockbusters. In the time I managed Curzon Goldsmiths, the venue saw a significant increase in its average monthly audience occupancy, heightened engagement across all utilised social media platforms and experienced both its best performing month and title to date. Within five years we were able to bring the venue towards a financially self-sustaining model, while embedding it into the cultural fabric of both the local New Cross community and Goldsmiths' academic body.
