Chosen as one of 12 Scholars from the west coast to participate research intensive program at the Salk Institute. I trained a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) to recognize and generate fake cytology images. This allowed me to greatly increase the training data without having to label real cytology images in a wet lab. I then trained a Deep CNN to be able to recognize nuclei and cytosol and correctly label each. This will hopefully greatly reduce the number of hours that researchers spend labeling images.

Worked as a Researcher in the Vision Sciences Laboratory in the Psychiatry department at Harvard University. I worked on quantifying the similarity of the features between objects and symbols. This would allow us to better understand how the brain first learned to identify features of symbols. This would give us insight as to how the brain learns to identify features and how information is processed in the visual cortex

Chosen as one of the top 50 STEM students in the US for a six week research mentorship at MIT. Worked under Talia Konkle in the Vision Sciences Lab at Harvard to train a Deep CNN to recognize objects and to determine its generalizability to digits and characters in order to determine how language is parsed in the brain.
