Integrated two cellular modems (one 3G, one LTE) into a vehicle-driver instrumentation system, including multi-national provisioning. Was also involved in early integration of secure 802.11 Access Point. Integrated drivers and SDK into a continuously integrated build system. Championed Test Driven Development (TDD) and documentation of interfaces and use cases / functional requirements. Actively involved in vendor management for cellular modems.

Led software maintenance activities on avionics software for remotely piloted aircraft for three years. Then contributed ground control segment two years. Ended by redesigning an embedded avionics data bus to support DO-178C certification. To do this, the team re-casted the legacy bus (with multiple implementations) as data-driven middleware, with definitions provided from a model, for traceability. My specific role in my final project was implementation on diverse hardware platforms, with a fully articulated hardware abstraction layer, and verified with automated regression tests.

Worked on deeply embedded, real-time instrumentation systems for infantry and mechanized combat training ("laser tag on steroids"). Worked on C for embedded microcontrollers and C++/C# for automated test equipment.

Initially worked on maintenance of Motorola's GSM Base Station Subsystem, and subsequently on a UMTS mobile equipment simulator.
