The mandate: Find ways improve the safety culture; maximize productivity; minimize downtime, maximize profits and improve environmental awareness. • Participated in all safety meetings; pre-tour, pre-job, and weekly general safety meetings.• Observed the daily activities of all crew members on board and recorded key point indicators: * Participation in the Behavioral Based Safety Program. * Knowledge and use of the policies and procedures in the Quality Management System. * Percentage of the mandatory training required by the Training Matrix that had been completed.• Evaluated crew member’s knowledge, skills, and abilities compared to those the required by company’s Competency Program (length of time in grade was taken into consideration).• Identified and prioritized the areas most in in need of improvement.• Conceptualized and developed a plan to bring the rig into line with company standards.• Advised the Rig Managers of plan and solicited their input. Revised the plan as necessary.• Implemented the agreed-upon plan, monitored and recorded progress.• Prepared and presented progress reports to the Director of Operation daily.
