Specifically, Jack is responsible for mingling with and engaging prospective Ohio State students and student athletes to provide them with an informative visit that gives each visitor a first-hand account of a true Ohio State experience. Jack has excelled in the various functions of a Recruitment Host, particularly in these direct interactions - as I’ve seen various students and families leave their conversations with Jack seemingly content and excited at the prospect of attending our university. Furthermore, Jack has stepped up in his second season as a host, taking on roles reserved for seasoned employees that assist me in assuring quality control in game day settings during football recruitment events. He assimilated into such roles with very little training necessary and virtually no learning curve, and I was extraordinarily pleased with that. I have supervised Jack for less than a year, however, in that short time, he has impressed me tremendously, and yet shown an incredible propensity for growth. One of his greatest strengths is that he asks intuitive questions to get information he needs to better accomplish his tasks. He is solutions oriented, and never afraid to offer suggestions and strategies to improve processes and challenge norms, with a sense of professionalism that is well-beyond his years.
