The Community Assistant Supervisor is committed to providing a smooth-running 24-hour Service Desk which includes but is not limited to; monitoring the safety of the building, managing the key loan process, and logging/distributing packages, as well as staffing and supervising 18-25 student staff.The Community Assistant Supervisor will provide on-call.

UNIV100 TAs are trained by the Office of Student Orientation and Transition in leadership development, communication skills, helping skills, and educational pedagogy to help them form meaningful relationships with incoming first-year students while co-facilitating a section of UNIV100 with a professional staff member at UMD.

Students work alongside a professional staff memeber in the FIRE: Cloud Computing Stream to use Python to analyze cloud data. Students collaborate with peers to make conclusions about large datasets using different types of packages and AI algorithms. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to work as peer research mentors to guide first-year.
