I have worked with the owner of Her Road Home part-time as a freelance graphic artist, to develop screen print designs for various products. These designs include local dreamtime stories written in a handwriting style I developed, scribbled-line sketches, local vintage maps and local vintage newspapers which I extensively sourced and curated.

• Developing custom costumes from design, patternmaking, material sourcing, sampling and adjustments through to producing a final outfit. These were for films, television shows, and theatrical productions.• Creating costumes and period-piece replica props for various projects. This included life-size teddy bears and hound dogs for Baz Lurhman’s Elvis project.

• Sample development; patternmaking, sample cutting and adjustments.• Liaising with manufacturers at each stage of production.• Sourcing and ordering fabric, trims, fastenings etc• Preparing Cost & Specification Sheets, Technical Sketches and Instructions;• Setting up weekly market stalls to creating a boutique feel. Sales.

My role involved developing mood boards, creating mock-ups of design details, matching yarn colours between physical and digital, handcrafting details on sample garments.

Outright winner of Design Genius, a fashion reality show which challenged fashion designers to create original and inventive clothing and accessories from unconventional materials. The show was filmed in the Philippines and broadcast to 160 countries.• Created a 3-piece themed outfit each episode using unconventional materials such as old electrical equipment, cinema food and Christmas decorations.• Provided with industrial sewing machines and tools as well as craft-equipment, paints and glue guns and given short time frames of 45 minutes to 4 hours for each piece.• Received $20,000 prize money as series winner.
