Responsible for the financial planning, reporting & analysis processes of a medical device company with $1.9 billion in annual sales covering more than 40 countries. Lead an organization of 26 Finance professionals (started with team of six).  Achieved highest forecast accuracy in the Philips Healthcare Sector in 2012-13 in most major categories. Enhanced process effectiveness by better aligning planning & reporting to “true” ownership & improving the planning and performance review cycles. Managed target setting process to ensure optimal probability of growth and profitability goal attainment.

Handled the full global P&L of a $160 million dollar water disinfection equipment business with over 600 employees (2 plants and 8 sales & service offices spanning 8 countries). Lead Finance related aspects of business planning, including the development of strategic plans, annual budgets, and operating plans focused on risk avoidance and opportunity optimization. Lead the controlling process by establishing KPI’s, taking the lead role in productivity management, and driving the organization to focus on key levers of profitability and cash flow. Provided commercial guidance and support in the areas of R&D, supply chain, product line profitability, global sales, projects, IT, and infrastructure optimization. Adhered to compliance and regulatory requirements, manage audit relationship, and ensured accounts were in compliance with IFRS. Managed six direct reports and an overall finance organization of thirty.In conjunction with the Segment GM, led the restructuring of the Water Disinfection business by rationalizing product offerings, reducing infrastructure costs, and improving internal processes. This restructuring optimized the business strategically, operationally, and financially. The business lost $4 million in EBIT the year before restructuring and had a positive EBIT of $8 million the year after.

Managed the development, implementation, and control of the planning, financial reporting, and performance controlling processes. Duties also included M&A support which included economic valuations, synergy evaluations, goodwill impairment testing and pricing guidance. The scope of these activities spanned over 50 countries for a $2.1 billion dollar business.  Achieved the best forecast accuracy in the division. The annual profit and cash flow targets were attained and the reporting and controlling processes I implemented were considered best practices by Division management.  Negotiated directly with P&L and cost center leaders ensuring resource-efficient, value-driven plans. Implemented asset management program that consistently exceeded net working capital targets due to integrated asset management “champions” program and greatly enhanced reporting and analysis of results. Developed economic valuation models and provided pricing guidance for 34 M&A targets in six countries (11 of which were acquired). The transactions ranged in size from $650K to $250M.
