My first full time role after graduating from University bestowed me with a fantastic opportunity to showcase my ability for quick learning and enthusiasm in the work place. I enjoyed completing my work to the expected standard and within the timeframes set on a daily basis in a fast paced, busy corporate environment, whilst using any spare time to complete training modules to better understand the processes of the company and to better myself as an employee. I enjoyed a 40 week work placement at ILOVETOUR University Festivals, the market leader in student sports tours and travel. Here I conducted sales meetings and client presentations to audiences ranging from 1-350 people. My inter-personal skills and communication (both written and verbal) improved no end. I succeeded in securing new, large clients for the company creating substantial revenue streams, as well as interviewing, hiring and managing my own team of staff. Through regular appraisals and feedback meetings, I moulded myself into a well rounded and effective young professional. Improving upon my professional development in such a way bestowed me with a huge sense of personal achievement and pride, which I seek to emulate in my next post.
