I began my programming journey at the age of 11, starting with Java and quickly expanding into JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python. Over the years, I've embraced a diverse array of programming languages and frameworks, such as Flutter and React, ensuring I stay versatile and adaptive in the ever-evolving tech landscape.During the COVID-19 pandemic, I assisted local businesses in transitioning online, primarily through building customised WordPress solutions for shops on Folkestone's Old High Street. During this period I also maintained the website for TEDxFolkestone.In 2021, I collaborated with a nonprofit organization to develop both a mobile and web application designed to enhance service accessibility for clients with various needs. This project was personally fulfilling for me as it directly improved the daily lives of individuals who need additional support.Later, I embarked on a project to develop a web portal and mobile app that interfaces with Microsoft Dynamics 365, aimed at streamlining care and legal professionals' access to wellbeing information about their clients. Concurrently, I developed several business automation processes for the same company using Microsoft Power Automate, to maintain the integrity of sensitive data stored across several solutions.I made the switch to full-time employment at a startup in early 2022, where the team and I bootstrapped a Flutter application for the company's first client. In this role I leaned heavily on my Flutter expertise along with my experience of building mobile apps from idea to release, and learned a lot about working effectively within a team with diverse skills.As a software engineer at Certinia, I work daily with Apex and JavaScript/Lightning Web Component code, building robust applications for enterprise clients on the Salesforce platform. I regularly take on more independent tasks alongside my regular responsibilities, such as implementing an automated performance testing solution for our product and a VS Code extension covering missing functionality of the Salesforce extension suite.Beyond my professional work, I get a big nerdy kick out of low-level programming, particularly the development of game engines with LWJGL. I created a Minecraft-style voxel game engine at the age of 16 - a project I still contribute to - and continue to engage in building and repairing computers, phones, and other electronics. These personal projects not only deepen my technical skills but also fuel my long-lived curiosity and passion for innovation and problem-solving in technology.
