We support people in rural Uganda (Kasese district) who have physical disabilities by helping create mobility devices (tricycles / wheelchairs) that can be built in Kasese as well as securing other assisted devices (such as canes, crutches, hearing aids etc) which can be sourced locally. I am currently Vice-Chair of the board of directors of Compassionate Ottawa, Am also a member of the Advance Care Planning Leadership Team. I facilitate community conversations on death, dying, loss and grief that help people put their advance care plans together. I am also a steering committee member of the Healthy End of Life Project (HELP) a community based research initiative designed to enable local communities and neighbourhoods support care givers and people living with advanced age, frailty, chronic and/or life limiting illness, to live as well as possible at home or in the community, surrounded by family and friends as they approach the end of life.
