My career journey started when I finished my sixth year of secondary school at Greenfaulds High School when I was offered the chance to come to IMV imaging as an intern in the Service department on June 1st 2017. During this time I learned how to carry out servicing on IMV's own products and after two months I was offered the role of an Apprentice Service Engineer. On 1st August 2017 I started my journey as an apprentice service engineer at IMV which I started off doing basic servicing and repairs of ultrasound systems until January when I went to EKGTA for 6 months to carry out the hardware courses for my modern apprenticeship. Once this finished in June 2018 I then started doing my modern apprenticeship paperwork over 3 years writing up reports on repairs I done to show as evidence for my modern apprenticeship, during this time I also carried out my NC qualification at New College Lanarkshire for 2 years. Once I finished my NC I then went on to carry out my HNC certificate in electrical engineering which developed me into a more technical person and advancing my knowledge to get closer to finishing my apprenticeship. On January 2022 finished my modern apprenticeship with EKGTA which moved me once step closer to finishing my apprenticeship as in April 2022 i received the promotion to Junior engineer for IMV. After I received this I was nearing the end of my HNC qualification which I passed in June 2022 and further improving my qualifications. While I have been at IMV imaging I have grown a lot in knowledge of repairing ultrasound and X-ray generators. Receiving training from our third party suppliers such as GE, Mindray and ECM which has led me to be confident on working on any systems while in the office and also being able to carry out services and breakdowns on the field where there can be pressure and limited supply of information available.
