Jack A. McSweeney is a management and design leader in the real estate development industry. He is the Division President of the Southeast Coastal Division (Charleston/Bluffton/HHI/Savannah) of K. Hovnanian Homes, a top public residential builder in the nation. Experienced in new home development, operations and design across the entire residential spectrum including - active adult, first-time, attached, and high-end semi-custom homes - he has also led and has been involved with recreational amenity and neighborhood designs for various communities throughout the region. Before assuming his role managing the daily P&L operations of neighborhoods, he was the Phoenix Group Vice President of Architecture for K. Hovnanian Homes. Prior to assuming his role at K. Hovnanian, Jack served as the planning manager for a major regional private developer, DMB Associates of Scottsdale, Arizona and worked specifically on their 8,800 acre project Verrado on the outskirts of Phoenix. As the planning manager for the award-winning community, Jack helped lead visioning and planning efforts focused on traditional neighborhood development and true “town building”. Jack successfully guided his team through an intensive set of design and development practices, or “neighborhood crafting” principles that were set in place to emphasize the unique character of the site while seamlessly integrating timeless models for street patterns, home design, amenity programming, and pedestrian friendly mixed-use retail districts.Previous to joining DMB Associates, Jack spent four years working for a national public home builder, Richmond American Homes, serving them in multiple roles that included field construction, plans management, and leadership of the architecture department.In addition to his professional role, Jack has also served as a faculty associate for the School of Design, Housing and Community Development program at Arizona State University.
