We finished building and testing the ALMA 10 Band Front Ends and shipped them off to Chile. The next level of my employment involved documenting and disassembling one of our Front End Test and Measurement systems which is made up of an industrial sized tilt table and electronic racks full of test and measurement equipment, then we shipped it off to the OSF (Operational Support Facility) in Chile and traveled down for 30 days to reassemble and commission. Now I'm back in CV constructing test sets for the LRU (Line Replaceable Units) which are the monitor and control modules that populate the ALMA Front Ends. Show less

After completion of the ALMA Central LO I transferred to the ALMA North American Front End Integration Center (NAFEIC) (just across the parking lot from the Photonics group) to assist in the assembly, test, and acceptance of the ALMA 10-band receivers.

I accepted the opportunity to join the Photonics team in May, 2009.The goal of this position was to assist in the development of the ALMA Central Local Oscillator Article One (CLOA1) which basically included a master laser, laser synthesizers, photonics distribution, subarray switches, and fiber line length correctors.
