Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Order Writing: Analyzing sales data, inventory levels, and customer preferences to accurately forecast product needs and create purchase orders. Utilizing Trader Joe's proprietary ordering system and tools to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.Product Knowledge: Gaining in-depth knowledge of Trader Joe's unique products, including their ingredients, sourcing, and availability. Staying up-to-date with new products, promotions, and changes to product availability to make informed ordering decisions.Vendor Management: Building and maintaining positive relationships with vendors to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Communicating with vendors regarding product quality, availability, and pricing issues to resolve any discrepancies.Stocking and Merchandising: Stocking shelves, rotating products, and maintaining neat and organized displays to ensure a visually appealing store. Monitoring and replenishing inventory to ensure products are readily available for customers.Customer Service: Providing exceptional customer service by greeting customers, assisting with inquiries, and providing product recommendations. Building rapport with customers and ensuring their needs are met with a friendly and helpful attitude.Store Operations: Assisting with store opening and closing procedures, including cleaning and maintaining store cleanliness standards. Participating in regular team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on product information, safety protocols, and company policies.Team Collaboration: Collaborating with other Crew Members and store leadership to maintain a positive and cohesive team environment. Supporting team members in their tasks and contributing to a friendly and inclusive work culture.

Similar to the buyer position for the county: Process up to 20 requisitions a day, solicit formal bids in accordance with standard procedures and solicit informal bids by telephone, FAX, or personal contact, and compare and analyze price quotations. Analyze market conditions, keep and sustain abreast of trends, explore sources of supply, study new products and vendors and research departments’ requests for all products and commodities. Study quality of products, determine vendor from whom purchases will be made, place orders, negotiate, renew and create contracts, investigate complaints and secure adjustments, follow up on deliveries. Manage data and prepare reports using office automation software, including excel spreadsheets and word document.
