During my 9 month co-op with Boston Scientific I was placed on a research and development team, working within the endoscopy branch. We were developing a new type of stent and were in the process of running trials. A lot of my early work included analyzing the data from the trials and trying to come up with worthwhile findings and ideas that we could then implement into our next design. Later on in the co-op I was part of a team which developed and created a new off site wet lab so that we could run some ex vivo tests of our own. Near the end of the co-op I was placed onto a new project. My role here was to use my Solidworks skills to design and create engineering drawings of new types of fixtures that we would require to create the new stents. I also had to work hand in hand with the outside contractor we were using to produce the fixtures to ensure that the tolerances and finishes were up to our desired standard.

I started the position of part time bartender in my local pub in transition year. At first I was dealing with taking orders for food and drink, bringing them to the bar and inserting them into the system. Once they were ready I would bring them to the tables. After 6 months I became a bartender and would prepare the drinks for all of the orders. This would include other duties like staying till closing time and locking up the bar. After 2 years I became one of the bar managers. This increased my responsibilities to include creating the roster each week, do a daily check on the stock and in turn place orders on anything we were low on, count up, total and lock away the tills each night and lastly to ensure people showed up on time for their shifts.

I held the position of camp director for 4 years with Kellogs Cul Camps. I was given a new camp each week and had to travel to and organize the trainers who were assigned to the camp. I would have to set up a training plan for each day and circulate this to all of the coaches. I would have to deal with and resolve any problems that the children attending the camp would have. I would need to ensure that all of the coaches present were able to work together as part of a team for the week.
