• Interned under the Structural Dynamics Branch (D322) to research truss concept for a lunar instrument tower utilizing deployable composite boom structures

• Researched liquid NTP engine concept with high specific impulse to reduce travel time to Mars • Brainstormed non-nuclear research project to validate system with a team of Ohio State faculty• Reviewed thermophysical, mechanical, and microstructural properties of openly porous materials for the purpose of bubbling through and heating propellant centripetally, including:> Binder jet 3D printed Silicon Carbide (SiC) composites across multiple cycles of preceramic polymer infiltration and pyrolysis (PIP), occasionally utilizing cross-linkers> Binder jet 3D printed SiC composites post-processed with Chemical Vapor Infiltration, analyzed across different build orientations and before/after neutron irradiation > Carbon fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composites with Zirconium Carbide infiltration and PIP processing, and varying combinations of Pyrolytic Carbon and SiC interphases

• Built drone collaboratively with Ohio State’s Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME) to verify a Machine Learning-based quadcopter flight controller written into PX4• Guided team through PX4 code to prepare for building and writing in Machine Learning modules• Consulted CAD design of on-board adjustable weight to change drone mass distribution• Piloted drone for flight tests and edited advertisement documenting company’s drone project• Led effort to document papers and patents for UAV predictive maintenance research project
