Second year of the graduate program with Anglogold Ashanti I worked with the Mine Geology team. Daily work involved mapping drives, sampling ore, making grade calls, QAQC, and tracking mine production. Coordinate within the geology and mining teams to ensure succinct and timely excution of the mine plan.

Working with the exploration team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine to further geological understanding and exploration success both in the near-mine and regional brownfields environments. In this role I was completing exploration projects as assigned, including interpretation, 3D modelling and targeting, diamond and RC logging. I completed independent drill rig supervision, ensuring a high level of safety, environmental compliance and sample QAQC.

Research assistant within the Structure Tectonics Group at the Research School of Earth Sciences. The group is engaged broadly with two lines of research: 1) using computers to take Structural Geology to the large scale, with 3D + time tectonic reconstructions, examining how slabs behave and the seismotectonics of particular regions, and how mineralisation is related to large-scale structure;2) using 40Ar/39Ar geochronology to determine the timing of different events, including the timing and duration of microstructural processes, dating using Arrhenius plots, and the timing and duration of movement in ductile shear zones.
