Police Officer / Trainer / Patrol Supervisor / Professional Standards & Training Supervisor / Honor Guard CommanderDuring my tenor, I have held several positions, as you can see. The Seminole Indian Police Department was the most challenging due to poor leadership practices at the highest level. The organization and the front-line supervisors were men and women in the ranks who worked tirelessly for an organization that did not care about retention or work environment. Sadly that is a fact that can be seen even today at the alarming rate of change over, even though their starting pay is well over 90k. The organization was run by a Chief of Police, whose leadership at a command staff meeting was written out for everyone on the whiteboard - F.Y.Y.W.T. (F*** You, You Wanted This). Or one that tells his troops - I am here form them, not you. It taught many of us how to be more decisive leaders and see how not to lead men and women in many situations. That agency could be a fantastic place to work of led correctly. However, due to the Tribal influence on the Chief, who is now the Public Safety Director (2020), I fear that will change never come to pass in this lifetime.

Road Patrol - SWAT (Tactical Rifle) - Patrol - SupervisorOne of the best times of my life. From the front line deputy to a supervisor this time was when I worked with some of the best in the business. I can now refer to this as the "Old Days"

In 1990 I joined the United State Marine Corps. While still in my senior year of school. Seven days after graduating the Okeechobee High School, I left home. Upon graduating from Paris Island, I was attached to the 9th Marine HQ Company (Tube Launched Optically Guided Weapon - MOS 0352) - TOW Platoon on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. There I met some of the best Marines I ever would serve with. Once my year commitment overseas was up, I transferred to 1/7 Weapons Co. in 29 Palms (The stumps) in California. I also met some amazing men there who had just returned from a combat deployment and learned a lot from those men. I am proud that I served these two units with honor and distinction. 9th Marines Headquarters Company, 3rd Marine Division - Weapons Company TOW Plt. 1/7th Weapons Company - C.A.A.T. (Heavy Weapons - Combined Anti-Armer Team)and for a short time, I was attached to 2/7 H&S Co. Even though my time was brief for most careers, it gave me the actual core values I hold close - Honor, Courage, and Commitment - leaving as a "terminal" LanceCorporal (inside USMC joke) I stayed until a helo incident ruined my drive and destroyed my will for a while. I wish I had the maturity level then as I do now; I would have pushed through it. However, as a young man, it was not obtainable at the time. I am dedicated to the Wreaths Across America, Operation 300, and other groups that care for our heroes. I also believe in my ethos of "Earn It."
