Selected experience in the fintech space includes advising on:• a deposit-linked tradeable cryptoasset for a leading global bank, with a particular focus on the application of the open banking initiative to emerging financial technologies;• a cash-backed bespoke settlement cryptoasset to be traded on an associated purpose-built exchange platform for the streamlining of the exchange of margin in derivatives transactions; and• an institutional cryptoasset custodian service.Other derivatives experience includes advising on the establishment of: • a U.S.$2 billion gold-linked exchange traded security programme; and• a series of EUR-denominated collateralised loan obligation programmes.

During my training contract, I completed rotations in the following four areas:Capital Markets and Fintech - Singapore • Worked as part of the team developing Linklaters’ growing fintech practice in Singapore, along with advising on a number of multibillion dollar note programmes and drawdowns.Banking (Leveraged Finance) - London• Worked on a range of acquisition financing and refinancing deals, predominantly related to private equity transactions.Derivates and Structured Products - London• Advised on complex securitisations and advisory matters, covering traditional legal drafting and analysis work in addition to taking on an additional role as project manager for a number of large deals. Experience covered repackagings, derivatives clearing, ISDA negotiations and Brexit planning.Corporate (M&A and Equities) - London• Part of a team advising on large scale public M&A (including the merger of Amec Foster Wheeler and Wood Group) and a range of equity rights issues

I worked as part of the Real Estate team advising one of Europe's largest financial institutions on the disposal of a significant tranche of loans secured on Irish properties.

The Washington Ireland Program identifies and selects 30 future leaders who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and commitment to service from a young age. The Class of 2014 was the 20th year of the Program, and many alums have now gone on to prestigious and influential careers in a multitude of industries, including government ministries, political journalism and business.The Program is designed to develop the leadership skills of the 30 members of the class. To this end I worked as part of an eight-person team writing a policy paper on the parameters of the role of government; engaged with a diverse range of speakers including White House speechwriters and campaign management experts; partook in weekly debates; completed community service in both Ireland and Washington DC; and completed a comprehensive leadership development curriculum which included seminars run by members of the Harvard Kennedy School. As part of the programme I also undertook a work placement in Dante Inc., a technology consultancy organisation.

Dante Inc is a software consultancy company providing end-to-end software solutions for a wide range of companies spanning multiple industries.I was given the freedom to define my own role, which included the identification and acquisition of new clients, new market analysis and global business strategy.

Ethnic Threads is an ethical clothing company.It is an entirely student run enterprise, and, as leader of the team, I developed and maintained a trade link with a producer in Mariakani, Kenya. The producer has as its aim the eradication of prostitution in the region by offering training and employment to women in this economically destitute region.I was also in charge of developing, along with our sales partner, the sales strategy for the company. As part of our strategy we aligned with key stakeholders such as the Kenyan Embassy in Ireland and Enactus (the largest worldwide organisation linking third level education and global businesses to generate social change).

As PRO of one of Trinity's largest societies, I coordinated promotional efforts to a membership of over 2,000, and a college community of 20,000.I conceived and designed the creative output of the Law Society including posters, publications, graphic design and dealt directly with our membership via our social media outlets, while working in partnership with our many sponsors in delivering to them the brand awareness they seek through sponsorship.As a member of the committee, I played an important role in the promotion of both on- and off-campus events, including addresses by speakers such as Kofi Annan, Michael D Higgins and Navi Pillay.

Completed an intensive month long internship in the Energy & PPP department of Arthur Cox.As part of the internship, I completed a programme of professional development courses designed to increase my commercial awareness, drafting skills, professionalism, soft skills, and researching, in addition to playing an active role in the Energy & PPP team.
