Research projects focused on (1) the formation and fate of precancerous tetraploid cells, (2) the role of protein phosphatases in mitotic entry, and (3) F- actin independent motility of cells. • Managed day-to-day operations and a team of 6 lab technicians, graduate, and/or undergraduate students.Protein Phosphatase 1(PP1) isoform functions during mitosis, disregulation and spatio-temporal dynamics.• Successfully submitted grants, resulting in more than $5 million from NIH and NSF.• G1 arrest in primary, but not transformed cells following mitotic catastrophe.• Cell biology, cloning, mammalian tissue culture, and molecular biology techniques including western blotting, flow cytometry, PCR, qPCR and various staining for microscopy.
