Desktop Support Intern

• Install, maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair IT supported hardware and software.• Monitor ticket and request queues, take ownership for resolution and fulfillment, and prioritize in accordance with IT procedures and Service Level Agreements.• Make sure all necessary documentation is updated to reflect changes implemented in performance of job duties, for example asset registries, knowledge bases, and help files.• Setup and configure workstations, laptops and other personal computing devices, adhering to security requirements and City IT policies.• Support and troubleshoot wired, wireless, and VPN connectivity for desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile devices.• Bring feedback from customer engagements to provide input for hardware and software recommendations.• Prepare equipment for decommissioning, including secure removal and destruction of data. • Accurately record information to document and track request and incident tickets using an IT Service Management system.• Interact with other technology groups as appropriate to efficiently respond to user requests/problems. • Confer with IT Deskside Technician II, and other IT staff to resolve more complex problems.
