The Investor’s Club at Chico State is a place for all students regardless of their investing experience to learn and grow their investment skills. We offer students a look at new ways of investing, and have discussions of specific markets, equities and more during our meetings. We consistently secure guest speakers in multiple different areas of finance and investing to come in and talk to our club about what they do, how to get started and overall advice they would have for people in our position. Our club has recently made a push to Discord, which helps us stay connected outside of school and not only have all of our club info in one place but also, allows us to chat about investing at any place and anytime digitally. We currently have around one hundred people in our server and are looking to expand our club for the semesters to come!

As a senior equity analyst for my schools' student managed investment fund, I am in charge of watching the consumer cyclical and defensive sectors for overall growth and new investing opportunities. Through our structure, I am responsible for mentoring and coaching new members on how to analyze companies, create stock pitches for them and how to analyze sectors and the market overall. When looking at companies, we use a mix of financial statements, competitor analysis, technical analysis, and overall sector/market analysis to determine whether a company is suitable for our investing criteria or not. While, our school's fund is a relatively new one, we have been working hard on filling our portfolio out, and have already seen great growth relative to our benchmark of the S&P 500.

Coaching youth sports was a truly fulfilling experience. I recognized myself in these young kids who wanted to get better at something and instantly took an interest in helping them achieve their goals. I became super invested and made an experience that encouraged everyone and inhibited growth. This opportunity taught me a lot about myself and opened a door that helped me realize how much I enjoy helping others reach their goals. It helped me build my leadership skills and gave me the confidence to take on more responsibility in my life and gave me a thirst for leadership roles.

I started this online shop while I was still in high school. I was in charge of sourcing products, advertising and selling them. I ran all aspects of this business and the experience really helped me see the world through an entrepreneurial eye and helped further my customer service and business operating skills. This was probably my one of my favorite experiences because it not only allowed me to get my feet in the business world but it also allowed me to get firsthand experience into what it takes to start and get a business running.
