Jack joined Balfour Beatty as an economics graduate in 1977 to help the civil engineering company expand into the building and refurbishment markets. Since then he has progressed via a number of internal posts, primarily in Edinburgh but also in London and Yorkshire ,to his final position of Business Development Director. He was one of the UK's longest serving business development executives until retiring on 31st Dec 2021 after 44 years and 6 months at Balfour Beatty
