About Jack Goetz

At Meta I work on the AI Assistant deployed on our Smart Glasses and VR hardware. I fine tune LLMs and build custom architecture deep learning models for Natural Language Understanding (NLU). I work across the model training and deployment pipeline, as well as production runtime logic. During my PhD at the University of Michigan I worked on Active Learning and Sequential Decision Making in general, and am interested in all aspects of such problems, from theoretical underpinnings to real world constraints to efficient implementation. I also have experience working on Federated Learning and other practical methods of privacy preserving ML.
