Responsibilities include:• Managing a team of 12 to lead the development and delivery of four volumes of the final report and policy focussed public hearings. • Strategic planning and coordination of the development, structure, content and governance of the final report, through:o providing high quality, strategic policy advice on the design and development of content; o applying critical thinking and rigorous analysis to ensure the delivery of sound proposals and recommendations that are implementable and sustainable.• Working with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure the final report is of appropriate quality and rigour. • Leading the final public hearing of the Royal Commission which focused on the nature and cause of child sexual abuse in institutional contexts.

Responsibilities included: • Development of chapters of the final report. This involved research, planning, internal and external consultation and ensuring chapters were prepared in line with the Terms of Reference and to the satisfaction of the Chair and Commissioners.• Strategic planning and coordination of the development, structure, content and governance of the final report.

Responsibilities included:• Development and implementation of UNICEF Australia’s Government Engagement Strategy including the development of strategic relationship with Ministers, other parliamentarians, their advisors and Departments. • Child rights policy work including the development of, and advocacy for, recommendations to address the overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out-of-home care, returning foreign fighters and children in immigration detention.• Acting in the position of Head of Advocacy.• Managing UNICEF Australia’s partnership with a state government department for the pilot of the UNICEF Child Friendly Cities program.• Working with UNICEF country, regional and head offices on shared humanitarian and child protection projects and providing briefings on the situation in Australia and our region. • Providing advice on UNICEF Australia’s child and youth participation policy and delivering capacity building training and mentoring as part of the young ambassador program.• Representing UNICEF Australia at public events, including meeting with Ministers, making speeches and the provision of training.• Writing for publications such as contributing a chapter to Proof of Birth, edited by Melissa Castan, Paula Gerber.

Responsibilities included:• Providing advice to the Race Discrimination Commissioner. This included preparing submissions, speeches, correspondence, briefings and reports.• The National Anti-Racism Partnership and Strategy Secretariat, which included working with federal government departments and peak bodies. It also involved managing projects with external partners on various elements of the strategy.• Representing the Commission on advisory committees.• Project management of the national, ‘Racism. It Stops with Me’ campaign. The campaign had almost 250 supporter organisations. The role involved coordinating and facilitating supporter activities, attracting and liaising with potential new supporters; communicating the campaign message through social media and email updates; and working with contractors in the development materials such as Community Service Announcements. • Writing chapters for the 2012 and 2013 Social Justice Reports. This involved strategic planning, research and analysis, stakeholder consultations, facilitating inputs from other teams at the Commission (including race discrimination, disability discrimination and children’s rights), and producing a community guide to accompany the report.• Drafting policy submissions and responding to questions taken on notice to Parliamentary Committees.• Writing speeches and correspondence for the Commissioner.• Stakeholder management with government departments and non-government organisations.• Preparation of research and policy briefs including media preparation.• Meeting and liaising with community members and constituents of the Commissioner.
