"Rebuilding lives, 23 1/2 hours a day" My father, Bob Rothacker, started Roth Construction in the basement of our house in 1967. I began working in the field, spotting nails and first coating drywall, during the summers when I was 10 years old. I learned drywall work, painting, sweeping up and light carpentry from the skilled people in our company. At 16 years old, I began estimating, procuring materials and performing the work on insurance repair jobs. I went to Southern Methodist University in Dallas and received a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management, focusing on Construction Management in 1991. I worked as a Project Engineer under Roth Construction for the USEPA for an Emergency Response Contractor project performing restoration of homes in Lorain, Ohio, New Orleans, Louisiana and Memphis, Tennessee due to Methyl Parathion Abatement from 1993 to 1996. Once the project was complete, I returned to Ohio to open and become President of Roth Construction West Company and Roth Cleaning Company in Elyria, Ohio. In June, 2009, I moved and became the owner of the Columbus office of Roth Construction. I have performed hundreds of fire, water and related insurance repair jobs (residential and commercial) in Ohio. I have taken general contractor tests and currently hold general contractor licenses in approximately 25 building departments in the state.
