A• Hired as a Civil Planner/scheduler and coordinator for 3 large capital projects and numerous small projects to upgrade FHR Port Arthur facility, with a combine cost of 600 million dollars. Responsibilities included but not limited to planning/scheduling, execution, monitoring/controlling and closing projects utilizing the knowledge areas set forth by PMBOK. Projects came in on time, under budget and with no major safety incidents. Once the above mentioned project’s where completed I was promoted to Construction Manager to oversee a 46 million dollar Steam Reliability project. My duties included but not limited to the following: I wrote a detail execution construction plan for the project, I develop a project schedule which included project milestones, which was based on engineering deliverables and long lead item delivery dates. I met with FHR’s neighbors Afton and negotiated a site on their property to utilize as the project laydown yard for equipment and materials this was required due to limited real-estate on FHR’s property. I met with heavy haul contractors to develop a plan for the transport of the 310,000 pond boiler from the vendor’s site to set on the foundation. I identified long lead items required for the project manholes, shop fabricated pipe, structural steel, electrical tray, cable and purchase these items early thus eliminating the lead time early in the project and prior to award of contracts to the contractors. I coordinated and made 3 hot taps early in the project following the company hot tap procedure, to eliminate the need to make the hot taps at the end of the project. Participated with the team to develop bid packages for the civil contract and mechanical contract, assisted with pre-bid meetings and led field walks with the potential contractors. I left JVIC prior to being assigned to a project due to a job opportunity with FHR which was closer to home.
