Coordinated and planned for Security Force Assistance (SFA) training for 22 Brigade Combat Teams serving/served in Afghanistan. Lead 162d Infantry Brigade planner for 3 Forces Command Training Synchronization and Resource Conferences. Conducted long-range planning. Supervised 6 personnel in planning annual resident training (SFA Course) of up to 2500 Combat Advisors and annual mobile of Soldiers in support of overseas contingency operations. Initiated the Brigade's Afghanistan Liaison mission with the objective of maintaining the Brigade’s Advisor Training curriculum; managed 4, 2 Soldier teams. Commanded a 12 man Security Force Assistance and Advisory Team with the primary duties of advising the 7th Infantry Battalion, 4th Brigade, 203rd Corps Commander (Jan 13 – Oct 13). Led the development and implementation of a transition plan that transitioned the battalion to a state of independence in support of the Regional Command – East mission. Advised the Battalion Commander in the development, preparation, and execution of all orders and plans; as well as training management, logistical support, and counterinsurgency objectives.Served as the 1st Battalion 353rd Infantry Regiment lead Security Force Assistance trainer and Operations Officer during monthly Combat Training Center rotations (Apr 12 – Dec 12); preparing Brigade Combat Teams for SFA missions in Operation Enduring Freedom. Managed the Battalion’s training management systems; coordinated all training resources to include land and ammunition for all training events. Planned and wrote daily operations orders, weekly schedules, monthly plans, Annual Training Guidance, and the Tactical Standard Operating Procedures for the battalion.

Mosul, Iraq

Maneuver Advisor for a Military Transition Team (MiTT); advised, trained, assessed, and validated a 750-man Iraqi Army (IA) Infantry Battalion. Assisted the IA Operations Officer and the Operations Staff Section in support of counterinsurgency operations in northern Iraq. Coordinated staff functions, communication and reporting between the team, the Brigade MiTT, the Iraqi Battalion, and the Coalition Forces responsible for the area of operations. Advised the IA Operations Officer on all operational and administrative staff functions as the IA battalion built combat power, trained its personnel, and conducted counterinsurgency operations. Represented the Mitt Chief in his absence.
