I am currently leading a survey to discover and characterize hot Jupiters with the goal of building a magnitude-limited, homogeneous sample of planet parameters so that we can uncover the dominant mechanisms of giant planet migration.

During the Fall 2021 semester, I was a lab lead for three 20-student sections of a physics (mechanics) lab designed for science majors.During the Spring 2022 semester, I am the primary instructor in a 50-student section of an astronomy lab for non-STEM students. I am also the secondary instructor for a 94-student section of the same course.

I use novel 3D core-collapse supernova (CCSN) models to constrain the origins of presolar stardust grains. Using these models, my coauthors and I have reclassified a subset of SiC grains, previously referred to as 'putative nova grains,' as 'SiC D grains' to reflect that these grains may be produced in both classical novae and core-collapse supernovae. This work is the first which uses 3D CCSN models to study stardust and has led to one peer-reviewed journal article, five conference abstracts, three poster presentations, and three oral presentations.

Using LROC’s high resolution photos of the lunar surface and QGIS, I create spatiotemporal traverse maps for each of the Apollo EVAs. In the creation of the maps, I collect and organize data from Apollo-era documents, recorded audio and transcripts, DAC/TV camera footage, hand-drawn maps, original photograph collections, and several other sources. These traverse maps contain the largest compilation of information of any Apollo map to date and can be used to follow the astronauts’ movements second-by-second throughout each EVA. This work has resulted in one conference abstract, one poster presentation, and a talk which was given to 295 attendees and posted online.
