My name is Jack Schulz, and I am an Electrical Engineer who loves to learn new skills and be challenged in the workplace!I graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a GPA of 3.70. I completed my BS in Electrical Engineering on the Omaha campus and was a member of the Walter Scott Jr. Scholarship program. I also have a MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. My research focus was a mixture of photonics simulation and design, and laser processing techniques on metals.I consider my set of skills to be fairly broad, and I like to joke that I live up to my name as a "jack-of-all-trades." I chalk this up to the variety of jobs I have enjoyed as an engineer. I have coded as a software engineer at Union Pacific, drafted electrical systems for buildings at JEO in Omaha, and designed test platforms for electronics at Communication System Solutions in Lincoln.I have also taken a variety of classes that do a good job at showcasing my diverse set of skills and desire to learn. I have taken everything from Java to Engineering Electromagnetics to Japanese. When I say I know multiple languages, I am not just talking about coding!Some hobbies that I enjoy included running and programming. Running has always been my favorite way to exercise. It is a great way to drown out my worries of the day and improve myself at the same time. I am currently programming a game engine from scratch in C++ because I am fascinated at the complexity of video games and how they are designed. Other than Java, all programming languages that I have learned have been mostly outside of the classroom. I enjoy using them for all kinds of projects!
