I have just finished a three year BSc honours degree in Animal Science and Management and I am aiming to start my full time career. Over the years i have gained experience through work experience placements and volunteering for overseas projects working in animal conservation and ecology. I have spent 4 years as a volunteer at the hawk conservancy trust, where I developed skills with interacting with the public and animal handling skills as well as being able to observe the day to day care for many different species of birds. During the course of my degree I have had the opportunity to travel abroad and across the UK taking part in many conservation projects. Examples of these include Orangutan conservation in Borneo, marine biology research assistance in Malta, shore watch surveys for Whales and dolphins in Scotland and large carnivore tracking in Poland. Taking part in these projects allowed me to gain an understanding into the strategies used and developed for conservation and how to correctly conduct many different types of survey as well as analysing the results to conclude a results.
