Oversee supervision of DCRI Statistics personnel including, but not limited to,recruitment, hiring, retention, promotions, scheduling and work assignments, coaching,corrective action, and career development. Directly supervise Associate Directors in theDCRI Statistics group.Ensure that the activities of the non-faculty statisticians and statistical programmers areappropriately coordinated and prioritized.Identify and make recommendations regarding the acquisition anddevelopment of new information systems (including software and hardware) needed tosupport statistical operations. Oversee the implementation of new technologies as well asupgrades to existing systems as well as any training needs.Ensure that SOPs are in place and followed for all statistical activities that are subject toregulatory requirements and ensure consistency with SOPs of other functional groups.Provide ongoing oversight of procedures and look for areas of efficiency – updatingSOPs where required and/or adjusting training requirements for staff.Lead the development of bids and proposals for statistical services. Ensure that proposedservices reflect the needs of the sponsor and that budgets are competitive.Prepare budgetary forecasts for functional group expenses (operating and capital) on anannual basis and for the statistical component of all DCRI statistical projects incollaboration with Statistics Leadership.Develop goals and objectives for DCRI statistical operations on an annual basis andcommunicate to all DCRI Statistics staff. Ensure alignment of functional groupobjectives with the mission, vision, and goals of the DCRI. Participate in DCRI widestrategic planning discussions.Develop and maintain a strategic plan for the future direction of DCRI statisticaloperations to ensure the DCRI’s continued position as a leading ARO.

Supervise and train Statistical Programming staff.• Assess, plan, allocate, and assign work. Organize and schedule workload in accordance with project priorities and staff availability.• Coordinate with Managers of Statistics to ensure sufficient resources to support these groups.• Report to Director, Statistics on staffmg needs, workload, etc.• Interact with Information Technology and Data Integration Groups to develop and facilitate methodology for efficient data organization and flow in the organization.• Directs Statistical Programming activities such as the creation and validation of SAS programming for tables, graphics, and listings.• Interact with partner sites to ensure compatibility of data bases, programming tools, and methods for data storage and sharing.• Reviews and assesses staff performance individually and as an operational group.• Serve as CDISC ADaM and SDTM resource for implementations.

• Integrate and oversee all corporate business software systems.• Implement a beta-software rollout worldwide of the Lawson software system, with oversight of 15 internal implementation staff and five external consultants.• Implementation tasks including: scheduling of training, system validation and production transition processes.• Consolidate legacy accounting, financial and human resources software systems.
