My role focuses on mission planning, deployment, and data processing for Slocum and SeaExplorer sub-surface electric gliders under the direction of Dr. Donglai Gong.

As my senior capstone research project, I worked with two other undergraduate students to develop a drone payload for autonomous water sampling to aid researchers at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. This project involved designing, prototyping, and deploying a device to autonomously collect and retrieve at least a liter of water fit for lab testing.

As part of my summer internship in the TolTEC lab at the University of Massachusetts I:• assisted in the final characterization tests of the instrument including robot-driven optical beam measurements and noise characterization.• studied and helped document the TolTEC cryogenic systems, including implementing minor repairs, during disassembly and packing.• designed a new mechanical mount for the TolTEC dilution refrigerator that will be assembled at the telescope site.• documented the entire TolTEC RF signal electronic chain from detectors to readouts and including both cryogenic and room temperature components.• took part in a summer-long series of lectures from various faculty and postdocs at UMass on their astrophysics research.• presented my summer work in a 20-minute zoom-based talk to faculty, staff, graduate students, and summer interns.
