Circuit Tutor was developed to help in the higher learning process of Introduction to Circuits and is used at Universities around the nation. It has been very successful to date, used by over 6000 students and 59 distinct instructors in 159 class sections at 13 different colleges and universities, with over 74% of students rating it as “very useful” and nearly all of the rest rating it as “somewhat useful.” In several controlled, randomized trials (both laboratory and classroom-based), we found that it was about 10X more effective than traditional textbook-based HW in terms of increased learning in the same period of time, and significantly more effective than a publisher-based online homework system.
