My role involved collaborating with fellow participants to gather and organize existing resources aimed at enhancing hazard awareness and self-defence education in primary and secondary schools. I reviewed current hazard and self-defence information available on council websites across the country and contributed to the creation of a brochure designed to inform tourists in Franz Josef about potential hazards and evacuation procedures. Additionally, our programme included field trips to council buildings, engaging with public officials, and observing an outcrop of the Alpine Fault, all of which enriched my understanding of earthquake resilience and the practical measures needed for effective public communication and preparedness.
