As a peer mentor for second-year students in the BUS2004 internships and placement module, I use my professional experience to guide them in securing summer internships for 2024. My role includes:1. Sharing Expertise: Providing insights on CVs, cover letters, job searches, and application procedures.2. Personalized Guidance: Tailoring mentoring to individual student needs and goals.3. Interactive Sessions: Hosting discussions and support sessions.4. Task-Oriented Approach: Assigning tasks for practical learning.5. Inclusivity and Diversity: Ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment.My commitment is to empower students for successful career development and personal growth.

During this internship, I was given insight into the overall management of the Rolls-Royce production line and an understanding of the importance of people management within this process on both the professional and personal levels.I was given the opportunity to lead a project that involved tracking production efficiency and logging where the production line was losing hours and missing quotas. Through this project, I liaised with project leaders and identified specific causes of loss of productivity, logging this information daily to help visualise these problems within production meetings.By managing this data I contributed to solutions and the streamlining of the production line and even gained recognition from the production leader and operations executive for the facility. The effective contribution of my project within the organisation has led to managers looking to continue this project despite my departure after finishing my internship.
