London, Uk.
This new position aims to take a strategic oversight of Hawkins\Brown practice wide research, development and implementation of new digital technologies. More broadly this involves looking at digital technology, across the practice, exploring how it can innovate how we practice architecture and more importantly; how we create better places.Through continually developing new tools using my skills in computation, I have overcome a number of design challenges on the projects that I've been helping to lead, most notably Here East. This included the dazzle pattern maker, to design and set out the frit pattern across the facade. The pod maker to design the complex latticed meeting pods hanging in the atria. And most recently I have helped develop the wiki-studio tool-kit alongside our key collaborators at Wikihouse and Architecture 00. This tool-kit allowed the team to auto-generate multiple 3D models, of 23 unique artist studios, each based on set parameters. It then instantly output drawings, schedules and fabrication-ready cutting files for construction. In this new position I am now using these skills to benefit a more broad variety of projects, such as the East Village ‘Colour Spandreliser’ and the doubly curved surface of pendant light fittings for the Sussex Life Sciences project.
London, Uk.
During my time as an Architect at Hawkins\Brown I have been delivering the Here East main build. During delivery this has involved supporting Laing O’Rourke, in the lead design team, collaborating with the supply chain of subcontractors to ensure that the final built elements amplify the bold vision. As the main build neared completion I have been leading a fit-out project, within Here East, for the design and delivery of 23 artist studios. This uses the Wikihouse design and construction toolkit to deliver a series of modular plywood buildings each precision manufactured using a CNC milling machine and aims to rethink the way that we traditionally approach design and construction.

During my time as a Part 2 Architectural Assistant at Hawkins\Brown I have been designing and delivering Here East. During the design phase I have been ambitious to collaborate effectively with the wide team of consultants in leading the development and delivery of the client’s bold vision. During design this has involved working closely with the branding consultants, graphic designers and letting agents to ensure that the architecture aligns with the brand, graphics and tenant mixture.

Operating as a teaching assistant for the Architecture course. Jack was employed to teach IT programs such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, Rhino, 3DSMax and Vray to students within the BA program (years 1 - 3 of Architecture study).
Shrewsbury, United Kingdom
Working as a member of the Technical department Jack’s main tasks would involve concept design generation for the Sales team through creatively programming spaces whilst also taking into account the desires of the Production and Contracts teams who would fully detail, spec and order based upon the drawings. Designing to the constraints of the steel frame modules was key to enable a quicker, more efficient workflow between these departments within the company.
Jack was responsible for taking on both new build and refurbishment projects and operating in sectors including - residential & bespoke housing, education, healthcare, commercial, retail, landscaping, bridges and regeneration. Jack combined an understanding of the user relationship to their surrounding architecture in order to develop sustainable, ‘Eco’, innovative and unique design proposals.
