From June 2012 to February 2018, I was Chairman of the Pressurized Water Reactor owners Group (PWROG). The PWROG represents the interests of over 40 utility organizations operating 185 reactors on 81 sites in 13 countries. This represents one third of the world’s operating reactors. The mission of the PWR Owners Group is to improve the competitiveness of member plants through cost-effective resolution of issues common to more than one member, and to provide a superior regulatory interface in support of member activities. As Chairman of the PWROG, I was Chief Operating Officer. I interfaced with the Executives from our US and International Members as well as senior Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) management, including the NRC Commissioners. I was also a member of the Nuclear Strategic Issues Advisory Committee (NSIAC), and I worked closely with EPRI, INPO, and NEI. I had overall responsibility for managing a generic budget which, at the time of my retirement, stood at approximately 18 million dollars and a cafeteria budget of approximately 9 million dollars.
