Accomplished engineering professional with more than 40 years’ experience as Process Engineer, Process Director, Project Manager, and Technology Specialist. This portion of the unit includes a large number of trayed and packed bed columns and several reactors along with support equipment. Scope included modeling the existing plant and reconciling with plant operating data in addition to typical FEED activities and development of deliverables.Provided mentoring, coaching and technical review for work performed by process team for preparation of FEED package. Work included preparation of HMB’s, PFD’s, MSD’s, Process Equipment Specifications, PSV calculations and Datasheets and P&ID development for the Alcohols production and purification units. Most of the process team were less experienced engineers and required patient, consistent mentoring and coaching to achieve positive results.

Multiple large modules and skids were fabricated in China and shipped to the job site in Queensland. Modules consisted of 138 Wellhead Gas Separator Modules, four (4) Fuel Gas Modules, eight (8) Gas Filter Separator Modules and twelve (12) Emergency Diesel Generator Skids. Work consisted of management of vendor fabrication, monitoring of status and schedules, identification of critical issues and working with the vendors for resolution and troubleshooting of critical issues and coordinating with Fluor engineering in Manila and Brisbane to resolve issues and keep the orders on track.

Work included development of Scope of Facilities, Plot Plan, HMB’s, Block Flow Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, Equipment Lists and Class V preliminary TIC estimate. A Value Engineering Study was also conducted to eliminate or modify items in the project scope that offer limited CAPEX and OPEX value to the project. The value engineering study and workshops used a systematic approach to analyze the project scope and design to identify cost saving opportunities that increase project value without sacrificing safety, schedule or quality. The preliminary BFD's, PFD's, equipment list, plot plan and Class V estimate were revised using the Value Engineering items indicated for implementation resulting in an reduction in TIC of 12%.

Process DirectorFluor China Oct 2010 - Dec 2011Shanghai City, ChinaOrganized, managed and directed project team for execution of engineering, procurement and construction management for two(2) hydrochlorination plants to support 5,000 MTA polysilicon each and a 2,000 MTA silane gas plant. Work consisted of supervising and directing process team for development of FEED and detailed engineering from Technology Provider’s Basic Engineering Packages. HAZOP analyses were completed to insure process safety. Special considerations were given for appropriate selection and procurement of special alloys for critical equipment and materials. Silane gas plant included facilities for storage and loading of silane. Design included PDS 3D models for all areas of the plants. Reviews of the PDS models were done and included members from engineering, construction and operations.
