While in college, I was first exposed to feature filmmaking as background on the Oscar winning film "Norma Rae". The revelation of the production process was awe inspiring and I found my raison d'etre. Though life's twists and turns took me into non-related career fields, I nurtured my passion by taking up screenwriting. Eventually, my writing expanded into freelance nonfiction where I published numerous articles on a diverse array of topics. At the same time, three pieces of my short fiction were published and I self-published a novel in Kindle format. By 2012, I was fortunate enough to realize my ambition of working in filmmaking. Opportunities to work as featured background came along on several features and I connected with some fledgling filmmakers to produce several short films, most of which I wrote or co-wrote. Some of them I acted in and some I directed. We also produced several episodes of a prospective "blue collar" automobile racing show that was not picked up.By 2014, I had worked on the sets of major television shows and films shooting in the New Orleans area, Baton Rouge and Atlanta and was cast in speaking roles in independent films, so I went into the business fulltime. By 2017, I gained SAG eligibility but have not joined yet. When COVID came along, I directed my creative energies back toward screenwriting. I completed a "for hire" feature drama, a feature drama adapted from Mary Welsh Hemingway's autobiography How It Was, a spec limited episodic dramatic series pilot and a multi-season dramatic episodic series pilot.
