My role at Isazi included both client consulting work and internal development on our document OCR product offerings. I've enjoyed consulting projects which entail wrapping our existing machine learning products into deployable software packages tailored to the use case. Clients I've consulted for include Standard Bank, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) and PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) Middle East. I worked with the PWC Dubai team on automating invoice data extraction and processing. My fully-integrated solutions usually comprise of a Go backend, Postgresql database and Vue.js frontend, with Pandas being my go to for data manipulation.

Independently developed three web applications for a large healthcare consulting/counselling company in South Africa. The applications are intended to capture client employee data pertaining to their general health, potential long-covid symptoms, uptake of and attitude towards the COVID-19 vaccination. The applications include scoring algorithms used to assess the health risks of employees, allowing for pattern detection and targeted counselling. A python backend and non-relational database were adopted.

Completed an internship at the University of Cape Town electrical Engineering department. I worked in a team of four on the development of a low-power, low-cost device intended to address electricity transmission line health and optimise maintenance needs. Using an accelerometer, the resonant frequency of wooden poles was monitored. The LoRa wide area network communication protocol was used for data transmission in a daisy- chain fashion. This solution is intended for use by South Africa’s electricity utility, Eskom.

I worked in a team of four interns in developing the embedded software and hardware needed for autonomously capturing the license plates of trucks on weigh bridges. Performed full stack development, including the embedded code and centralised server application. My team work skills were solidified. This solution is intended to minimise fraudulent truck operators in the South African coal industry.
