Working for SIRC, my placement was working as a researcher for the Cricket Observatory project. Using software, I had to collect data on overseas cricket players and transfer my findings to Microsoft Excel. From there, I analysed the data through useful formulas. The experience developed my computer skills and software skills.

During the peak of COVID 19 lockdown, I volunteered to be a delivery driver for the Black Horse pub, Nettleham. My role was to deliver meals to the elderly in the village who couldn’t access the shops during the lockdown. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience as I felt like I was helping my local community.

Part of the meet and greet team, my role was to welcome the students to the Collegiate campus and share with them my experiences of university so far. Meeting new people and gaining valuable customer skills, I enjoyed my experience as a course open day assistant.

My roles included being a line judge and scorer during the event. Beforehand, working as a collective team, we made sure the pitches were marked out correctly before the event takes place. This experience gave me an insight into how successful events are run and the logistics behind an event.
