My TCU education and experience have and will continue to invaluably enable and equip me for the challenges I face in my long journey as an aspiring physician, excite me for the future interactions that lie ahead with people of all kinds of backgrounds, energize me for furthering my interest in science, medicine, and the human body, empower me to take a stand on issues plaguing the communities I seek to improve, and embed in me a strong sense of humility, love, and passion for pursing my 'why.'For people. That is my 'why' in life, the reason for my existence and the force that motivates me to continue to trudge through the tough times in my life and cherish the good ones even more. People are so incredibly special; they are the reason I have committed myself to studying to become a physician through learning about the hard sciences like biology while experiencing the uniqueness of people through activities like volunteering with hospice patients, who are often very different than myself, or connecting with my fellow Frog Aides, whose wisdom continuously surprises me. Exploring people is my love.Along the way in my education I have been a part of numerous opportunities to work with others. Working at a small farmer's market-type grocery store allowed me to interact with customers who cared about receiving quality food items that nourished their bodies, volunteering at a hospital in a different part of town from my home showed me the differences in communities that quite literally were only blocks from each other, nannying kids (and pets) in the summer gave me insights into the wonder of child development and the impacts of ADHD and traumatic childhood events on kids, and working in a college recreation center built me a community of friends and lended me a team of people experiencing a similar situation as I was- balancing school and work, along with other opportunities. These experiences have all shaped a part of me, and I plan to continue to be molded and impacted in both obvious yet also less-obvious ways by the people who come into my life.
