This placement with the brilliant team at NK Active was a hugely beneficial placement for me and my professional development in my ongoing learning journey as a podiatrist. It was amazing for me to see another avenue of podiatry and it really opened my eyes to just how many doors are opened by having a podiatry degree. I had a fantastic time on placement with the podiatry team in the Solent NHS Trust. Getting hands on experience is invaluable in this line of work and even more so when you have such great mentors. The majority of the this placement was focused around high risk, diabetic patients and it was such an honour to be a cog in the wheel of something much bigger in tackling this national issue. I was able to start managing my own caseload of patients as the placement went on providing care… Show more I had a fantastic time on placement with the podiatry team in the Solent NHS Trust. Getting hands on experience is invaluable in this line of work and even more so when you have such great mentors. The majority of the this placement was focused around high risk, diabetic patients and it was such an honour to be a cog in the wheel of something much bigger in tackling this national issue. I was able to start managing my own caseload of patients as the placement went on providing care independently under the watchful eye of my supervisors. Nail surgery was also a focus on this placement and getting signed off on my local anaesthetic injections was a real milestone for me. I enjoyed this placement massively and feel that I have taken great steps in the progression of my podiatric career. Show less

My very 1st Podiatry placement where I got stuck in from day 1, completing routine podiatry care, wound care, MSK assessments and orthoses prescription as well as managing case loads effectively. I also got familiar with writing clinical notes, discharge letters and GP letters whilst always up holding a professional approach with patients and colleagues alike.

Worked as both a delivery driver and a supermarket assistant, trained in a wide variety of roles.
