I had a fantastic time on placement with the podiatry team in the Solent NHS Trust. Getting hands on experience is invaluable in this line of work and even more so when you have such great mentors. The majority of the this placement was focused around high risk, diabetic patients and it was such an honour to be a cog in the wheel of something much bigger in tackling this national issue. The majority of the this placement was focused around high risk, diabetic patients and it was such an honour to be a cog in the wheel of something much bigger in tackling this national issue. I was able to start managing my own caseload of patients as the placement went on providing care independently under the watchful eye of my supervisors. Nail surgery was also a focus on this placement and getting signed off on my local anaesthetic injections was a real milestone for me. I enjoyed this placement massively and feel that I have taken great steps in the progression of my podiatric career. Show less
