I started my Cadet ship at the end of August 2017. The cadet ship lasted three years and ended in September 2020. Over this three-year period, I had many responsibilities which included, maintaining a high academic standard as I progressed through the cadet ship as well as having to pass random drug and alcohol tests throughout these three years. Over this three-year period, I had many responsibilities which included, maintaining a high academic standard as I progressed through the cadet ship as well as having to pass random drug and alcohol tests throughout these three years. Another responsibility I had was completing multiple short courses and seeing to the completion of my Merchant Navy Training Record Book. During these three years I spent between seven to eight months out in the North Sea on four different Platform Supply Vessels gaining practical experience in my chosen field which was engineering. Whilst on these vessels I worked between 8 am and 5 pm six days a week. On top of this I was responsible for writing up over one hundred reports, Tracing and then drawing up different systems found onboard the vessel as well as completing and reports the college gave me over that time. I also worked overtime on several occasions when big jobs were taking place to gain extra experience. Show less
